Paradoxes Solved
I must admit this post does not have the omg factor like many other posts but still i am sure you will like it.
As defined by Wikipedia, a paradox is a true statement or group of statements that leads to a contradiction or a situation which defies intuition.Below is a list of some tricky paradoxes with solutions:
1. Free will
If God is omnipotent and knows what we will do before he created us, how can we have free will?
ANSWER: This paradox is explained by God being outside of time–he knows the future just like he knows the past and the present. Just as the past does not interfere with our free will, neither does the future.
2. Crocodile Dilemma
A crocodile steals a son from his father, and promises to return the child if the father can correctly guess what the crocodile will do. What happens if the father guesses that the child will not be returned to him?
ANSWER: There is no solution. If the crocodile keeps the child, he violates his rule, as the father predicted correctly. If the crocodile returns the child, he still violates his rule as the father’s prediction was wrong.
3. Grandfather paradox
A man goes back in time, and kills his grandfather before the grandmother can meet his grandfather. This means that one of the man’s parents will not have been born, and the man in turn, will not have been born. This would mean that he could not have traveled back in time after all, which means the grandfather would still be alive, and the traveler would have been conceived allowing him to travel back in time and kill his grandfather.
ANSWER: The moment the time traveler changes something in the past, a parallel universe splits. This is supported by quantum mechanics.
4. Paradox of the heap
There are 1,000,000 grains of sand in a heap. If we remove one grain, it is still a heap. If we remove another grain, if it still a heap. If we continue removing one grain at a time, when we’re left with one grain, is that still a heap?
ANSWER: Set a fixed boundary. If we said 10,000 grains of sand made a heap, then anything below it would not be a heap. Yet, it seems unreasonable to distinguish between 9,999 and 10,001 grains of sand. The solution can therefore be altered to say there is a fixed boundary, but they are not necessarily knowable.
5. Omnipotence paradox
Can God create something so heavy He cannot lift it? If he can create something so heavy he can’t lift, then his lack of strength means he is not omnipotent. If he can’t create something so heavy he can’t lift, than he is not omnipotent.
ANSWER: The most common response is that as God is omnipotent, “can not lift” does not make sense
6. Unstoppable force paradox
What happens when an unstoppable force meets an unmovable object? If the force moves the object, then it is not unmovable. If the force doesn’t, the force is not unstoppable.
ANSWER: This situation can never happen, as if there is an unstoppable force, there couldn’t be an unmovable object and vice versa. More interestingly, there can never be an unmovable object. An unmovable object would have to have infinite inertia, and therefore infinite mass. Infinite mass cannot exist in our finite universe, therefore an unmovable object cannot exist.

Emotional Phone - Blackberry Empathy
The new Blackberry Empathy will convey your feelings using a biometric ring. A new Blackberry is Designed by David Yoon, the phone works with a biometric ring that reads a person’s emotional state. Conveying the feelings of the wearer, this piece allows the communication over social networks to become deeper.
BlackBerry Empathy connects the user straight away to sites like FaceBook and MySpace for quick messaging and status updates. The device also comes with proximity sensors, allowing you to detect the emotions of the folks nearby through an emotion chart with a visual timeline.
Empathy uses movable keys, a translucent tactile keyboard and a flexible OLED display, plus a HUD (heads up display). The keypad on this phone can change color according to the user’s emotions, that are sensed through messages, phones calls and biometric sensors.
The concept of Social networking through portable devices is already popular among the masses, but the biometric technology will just take it to another level.

French firefighters freed a 69-year-old woman who became stuck in her bathroom for almost 3 weeks after doorknob fell off.

Firefighters broke into her second-floor flat in Epinay-sous-Senart,Paris and reportedly found her lying on the ground in the bathroom, in a "very weakened" state.
The woman, who has not been named, had survived on warm tap water for almost three weeks. She is now recovering in hospital

Farmville Vs Phrases..
When I started Farmville i was never aware of it's that rapid success. I left it a year back but i still have friends who are crazy about plowing and seeding .. Damn get a life .. It's not jus about my few friends, Farmville was awarded as the best and highly rated Facebook application. I got the reason why you loved it. LOL ..!!
Farmville was growing so fast that on each month and when Facebook ranks the active users on its application, farmville was found on the top with 80 million users at sometime back. I heard they rule about 15 months (Zynga earned a lot ~winks~) but recently I heard thar farmville is beaten by Phrases. ftw..!! Monthy active users of Phrases are more than Farmville (yea Farmville's daily active users are still more than Phrases.) what's Phrases.??
Phrases is a Facebook application to create more Facebook applications, btw I jus created one today as a test drive .. its not so awesome .. seriously .. !!
Farmville is with 54 million active users now with 3.9/5 starts and phrases has more than that with 3.5/5 rating. People are losing interest in Farmville 'cause of playing it like an ordinary video game. Zynga is trying hard to gain its popularity back with other games . On the other hand, a bit odd thing happened that Phrases was banned for the US users..

World Beneath the Glaciers..
These are the amazing pictures from the ‘Ice Man’ – a frosty photographer who is prepared to go to extraordinary lengths to capture the perfect picture. Eric Guth was spending days hiding out in some of the world’s most spectacular glacier caves. The 30-year-old regularly camps for days inside the glaciers which can reach unbelievable temperatures & sometimes as low as 20 degrees below freezing.
“'I have been fascinated with ice for as long as I can remember so I can't imagine doing anything else,” Mr Guth told the UK’s Daily Mail. “'My mum was a photographer and when she passed her camera down to me, taking pictures of glaciers just seemed like the natural thing to do.”

Most of us always think Elephant is a huge creature, I know we all believe . ok ok at least I do.. but I was just amazed to see when a Crocodile attacked on an Elephant. it was a Nat Geo Report in which a Crocodile attacked on an mother Elephant and baby were on the water hole and the fight took almost 15 secs. (Reported by National Geographic Photographer) .
"The elephant managed to turn, but the croc was still hanging on," photographer Nyfeler said. "Then the little baby somehow stumbled over the croc, and the croc released the elephant.
"The croc went back into the water, and both elephants just ran away."
